2'-O-Methylguanosine is a guanosine nucleoside that contains a 2'-O-methyl group at the 2' position of the ribose. 2'-O-Methylguanosine has been shown to be an inhibitor of DNA polymerase and an activator of RNA polymerase, as well as present in relatively high concentrations in tissues, such as liver and muscle, where it is involved in metabolism or energy production. Reagent grade, for research use only.
2'-O-Methylguanosine is supplied as a crystalline solid. A stock solution may be made by dissolving the 2’-O-methylguanosine in the solvent of choice. 2'-O-Methylguanosine is soluble in organic solvents such asethanol, DMSO, and dimethyl formamide (DMF), which should be purged with an inert gas. The solubilityof 2'-O-methylguanosine in ethanol and DMF is approximately 0.05 mg/ml and approximately 12mg/ml in DMSO.
DMSO.Further dilutions of the stock solution into aqueous buffers or isotonic saline should be made prior to performing biological experiments. Ensure that the residual amount of organic solvent is insignificant, since organic solvents may have physiological effects at low concentrations. Organic solvent-free aqueoussolutions of 2'-O-methylguanosine can be prepared by directly dissolving the crystalline solid in aqueousbuffers. The solubility of 2'-O-methylguanosine in 0.1 M HCl is approximately 10 mg/ml. We do not recommend storing the aqueous solution for more than one day.
